What this playlist covers
Gate Smashers Computer Networks Interview Preparation Playlist by Gate Smashers runs to 106 videos across 9 sections: Introduction & Physical Layer, Switching, Data Link Layer, Network Layer & IP Addressing, Routing Protocols, Transport Layer, Session, Presentation & Application Layer and Network Security & Cryptography, plus 1 more. Tick each video off as you finish it — progress is saved in this browser, and syncs across devices once you sign in. Nothing here is gated and there is no signup to start.
The networking course to pick if the goal is an interview rather than an exam — it spends its time where the questions are.
Who it is for
Anyone preparing for placement or SDE interviews who needs networking covered properly but not exhaustively. Also fine for GATE, though Neso goes deeper on the lower layers.
How to work through it
- 01Introduction & Physical Layer (16) quickly — do not linger, little of it is asked.
- 02Data Link Layer (19) and Switching (5).
- 03Network Layer & IP Addressing (20) then Routing Protocols (6). The highest-yield stretch of the course.
- 04Transport Layer (11) — TCP, the handshake, congestion control. If you watch one section properly, this one.
- 05Session, Presentation & Application Layer (10) and Network Security & Cryptography (8). HTTP, DNS and TLS come up constantly.
What it does well
- Balanced across the stack: 20 videos on the network layer, 11 on transport, 10 on the top three layers. That is roughly the distribution interview questions follow.
- 8 videos on security and cryptography, which most networking playlists skip and interviewers increasingly do not.
- Short, direct videos — it moves.
Where it falls short
- Subnetting is folded into the 20-video network layer section rather than taught as its own thing. If subnetting is the weak spot, Neso's 22 videos are better.
- Audio and production are plain. Content over polish.
- 106 videos still assumes real time. It is shorter than Neso, not short.
What to pair it with
- Neso Academy Computer Networks — For subnetting specifically, and for GATE-depth on the lower layers.
- Interview question banks — Networking questions phrased the way interviewers phrase them.
